Your Presenter: Marybeth Irvin

Marybeth D. Irvin, Ph.D. serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education and oversees elementary curriculum K-5. Prior to this position, Dr. Irvin was principal of Lincoln Elementary School, which was awarded its third Blue Ribbon from the United States Department of Education in 2013. 

Before joining the Mt. Lebanon School District, Dr. Irvin was the Director of Curriculum K-8 in the State College Area School District. She led the application process for Pennsylvania Schools to Watch, and in 2009 both middle schools in the district received this designation from the National Forum for Middle Grades Reform. 

She began her career as an elementary teacher in the Mifflin County School District and moved into administration as a principal and Federal Programs Coordinator. In addition to her roles in schools, Dr. Irvin served on the executive board of the Pennsylvania Middle School Association (now PAMLE) for eleven years, and as its president in 2008.
