Documenting Learning vs. Displaying Learning - Part I

Documenting learning is more than supporting learning by providing visible evidence. It requires accessing and reflecting on one’s own learning processes and articulating what takes place throughout a learning journey. Purposeful and meaningful documentation artifacts play a critical role in conveying thinking and learning. They also inform students and teachers about next steps, including coaching, mentoring, or direct instruction.

Your Presenter

Janet Hale is the co-author of A Guide to Documenting Learning: Making Thinking Visible, Meaningful, Shareable, and Amplified with Silvia Tolisano. She is also the author of the bestselling book, A Guide to Curriculum Mapping, and its companion, An Educational Leader’s Guide to Curriculum Mapping.
