Yesterday, Rubicon® announced the launch of Rubicon.org, the company’s official community giving platform.
When Rubicon was founded in 2008, we had a clear mission in mind. We wanted to solve a growing global problem that had been left unaddressed for decades, if not centuries. That problem was the accumulation of waste and its increasingly damaging impact on the world.
Through a combination of entrepreneurial spirit, a drive for innovation, and a passion for people, Rubicon has led the way in ending waste and helping to heal the planet. In that time, we also placed a great emphasis on community volunteering and giving activities, creating opportunities for its staff to dedicate time to helping local and national organizations with their social, environmental, and community-focused activities. Rubicon.org is the manifestation of the company’s sincere belief in a people-centric and environmentally conscious society.
National, Local, and Sustainable Giving
Rubicon.org formalizes Rubicon’s corporate giving and volunteer activities. It has three focused areas of giving:
- National
- Local
- Sustainable
At the national level, we partner with organizations to tackle the largest issues we face as a country, such as our support for veterans’ groups like USA Cares, which stems from a recognition of the many sacrifices made by our veterans in order to bring safety and security to our homeland. Trace Chesser, President and CEO of USA Cares, noted of the companies’ working relationship, “We seek out partners who share our commitment to our veterans, and Rubicon embodies that very same dedication. At Rubicon, the support of our mission starts at the top and runs throughout the entire organization.”
At the local level, our team volunteers its time to support charities and organizations that are working to address the immediate problems facing communities across the country.
In terms of our sustainable giving and volunteer efforts, an area that is near and dear to my heart, we dedicate time to supporting environmental initiatives such as our team’s participation in the annual Sweep the Hooch event, where volunteers restore and protect the ecologically important Chattahoochee River in Georgia. While environmental clean-up efforts like these obviously advance our organization’s overall environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals, we believe they are crucial because a cleaner environment creates safer, stronger communities.
Leaving a Positive Mark on the Communities We Serve
“Rubicon.org was created because we know we have a mission beyond commerce, and we want to leave a positive mark on the communities that we serve,” said Nate Morris, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Rubicon, in announcing the launch of the company’s official charitable platform. “There are social and environmental problems that demand immediate action and we believe it is our duty to tackle those challenges. We sought out ways in which we could make a true human difference in the world, and with Rubicon.org we will do our part to lift all communities and help them create a better, brighter, and more equitable future.”
Leaving a positive mark on the communities we serve is the crux of what we are hoping to achieve with Rubicon.org. As such, we are currently in the process of actively looking for opportunities to expand our network of partnerships.
