This past weekend, the United States celebrated the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. To honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and his work, earlier this week Rubicon employees from across the country participated in a day of service to help answer what Dr. King described as life’s most persistent and urgent question: “What are you doing for others?”
At Rubicon, our values dictate that we must focus on how our work serves our fellow man. This is one of the reasons why Rubicon became a certified B Corporation in 2012, and has kept up this certification ever since.
Our employees are passionate, mission-driven, and professional in all that they do. Here is how Rubicon employees celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day this year.
Company-Wide Martin Luther King Jr. Day Activities
Eager Rubicon employees at every level, from our senior leadership to some of our newest hires, came out in force earlier this week to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King. Here are some of the highlights from some of our offices.
At our company headquarters in Atlanta, we partnered with The Packaged Good by helping to create care packages for homeless and underserved families in the Metro Atlanta, GA area.
Our Tinton Falls, NJ team volunteered with Lunch Break, a non-profit organization that provides food, clothing, life skills, and fellowship to those in need in Monmouth County and beyond. Volunteers donated their lunch breaks to prepare and distribute lunches to individuals in need.
Finally, our St. Louis, MO team volunteered with Box of Balloons, a nonprofit that provides birthday parties to children in need. Volunteers donated party supplies to help give these children a happy birthday! All supplies are put into a birthday box and delivered to the child’s parents or caregivers so they can celebrate their child.
At Rubicon, our mission is to end waste, in all its forms. We work with cities, small businesses, and large companies across the United States and around the world to help them meet that mission head-on by using technology to drive environmental innovation and uncover sustainable solutions.
May Dr. King’s life and legacy inspire us today, and every day, to serve others in all that we do.
