Curriculum Mapping Adopted at the University Level

The North Dakota State University, College of Pharmacy has partnered with Rubicon and the Atlas Curriculum Management System. Upon completion of an in-depth analysis of curriculum mapping tools, Atlas has been selected to facilitate bridging the instruction between the NDSU’s two programs, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Practice.

Implementing Curriculum Mapping is being seen by NDSU as a key strategy to incorporate an ongoing curriculum review. Atlas has been customized to integrate the program's unique Course Descriptions and Outcomes.

College of Pharmacy professors will be better able to align their curriculum to the NDSU Outcomes, as well as share instructional materials across the various courses and identify gaps and repetitions occurring in their course offerings. In the long term, curriculum maps created in Atlas may be available on a student-centric Atlas site so that students will be provided a deeper understanding of course expectations.
