Several Rubicon team members traveled to Banda Aceh
recently to witness firsthand the devastation caused by the
earthquake and subsequent tsunamis which struck the
southern part of Asia in December 2004. This marks the most recent
step in Rubicon's efforts to directly help the people of this
region recover from unimaginable damage.
Rubicon's team members collectively vowed soon after the quake to donate enough money to build a school in one of the areas hit directly by the storm. While this visit confirmed the worst reports, the Rubicon team is pleased to be able to take part in this relief effort, and to assist students and families in returning to their normal lives.
Rubicon has donated the required funds and is looking forward
to partnering with IBO and local relief leaders in order to break
ground on this exciting project in the upcoming months. Look for
updates on the construction soon!
