Our Team: Joseph Lanigan

  • Encourages clients to seek out continental crossings. With a map in hand, you are likely to find natural beauty and open spaces.
  • Comfortable using orienteering skills to navigate unfamiliar territory. This has come in handy in plotting routes for backcountry ski trips, locating and monitoring Great Gray owls as well as providing guidance to clients as they chart their mapping course.
  • Suggests one always carry a map and compass in the backcountry. Experience has taught him never to be overconfident in his own sense of direction, because even on a casual trip through the woods, unexpected conditions can make it difficult to find your way home!
Joseph Lanigan brings his experience designing curricula in a wide variety of educational settings; from environmental and experiential education, to classroom and museum science programs to the Rubicon team. He operates on our deployment team, working as a liaison between Rubicon associates in the field, the development of Atlas sites and our clients. Mr. Lanigan is working toward Oregon teaching licensure with endorsements in science, biology and math.
